Miso Soup
Miso soup is so easy it's almost tard-proof. Almost. I can't say anything is actually "tard-proof" because somebody always finds a way to injure themselves.
Ingredients:
miso paste (shiro or aka)
tofu cubes (silken tofu provides preferred texture)
dried wakame
scallions (optional)
bonito flakes (optional)
water
Pour the water into a pot (the amount of water should correspond directly with how much miso soup you want to make). Put the water onto the stove and crank the heat up to high. Gently stir miso paste into water (I like my miso soup strong, so I use 1 heaping tbsp miso paste/ 3 cups of water. If it's too strong, add more water). Put tofu cubes and dried wakame into the pot and cover. Bring to a boil. Turn the heat down and simmer for a few minutes until tofu has cooked and the dried wakame has unfurled and rehydrated. Do a dance of joy, for you are now done.
Garnish with scallions or bonito flakes if desired.
