Unknown
Alphabetically
A
Abraxinal
A drow elf with demon blood who now works for the Mel Family in Harvest Wharf. She believes Hawk to be her owner after her capture, but she works for Marjorie Mel as an assistant.
Her brother and sister dragged her out one evening to go pick on some surface dwellers who carried an interesting headband. Unfortunately for them, these surface dwellers were the party who quickly crushed them. Norvi saved her life, hoping to interrogate her. She assumed Hawk owned her and would sell her off. Hawk had a better idea: dump her on the Mels, who were more than happy to take another employee. Marjorie in particular seemed alright with the deal. Hawk insisted he wasn't selling a slave; Marjorie would teach her the Common tongue and how to manage business. In exchange, she would be Marjorie's assistant and would make no efforts to escape. She'd be killed if she ever returned to the underground as a failure, so she never planned to escape.
She seems to have a knack for fashion, as well - Melanie Mel has showcased her fashion alongside Adrianna Hodgkins'. Still, her loyalty lies with Hawk, as she has warned him many times of the Mel Family's suspicions.
Adrias Stonebottom
A surly dwarf who lives in Harvest Wharf. He and Merki used to have friendly competitions at the East Ferren Trading Company, each trying to outperform each other. He seemed particularly impacted by Merki's death.
Maybe he's just seen everything, but he seems to trade in a lot of favors. He hasn't asked the party back for the 6000 gp he lent for Fi's resurrection. While he isn't a fantastic fighter, he seems to know how to activate wands and he knows the various thugs and gangs in town.
He helped the party secure a couple of crates from Merki's last mission, where he found the Sendrine but wasn't sure what to make of it. Suspecting the party was witholding information, he told Marjorie about it directly.
Agent Midnight
Image Inspiration: Google Photos
Agent Midnight resides in the Draugh Kingdom and is a spy for the Draugh Princess. Her interests include tea, repairing automated golems (despite being illegal) and distracting the Draugh Army. Vegeta claims she actually IS the princess, but he has no proof of this.
Alexen Dakan
Captain of the Harvest Wharf guard , Captain Dakan was born during the Fifty Years' War, and quickly became a hometown hero. The Dakan family was noble, but he seems more of a warrior than a nobleman. His son Marxen Dakan lives in Harvest Wharf, and his paramour Shavanni Tinderrain frequently visits. The first time the party spoke to him during Melanie's charity party. Hannelore and Norvi are now part of his guard.
He seems well connected as far as the party is concerned: He helped Merki, he refers the party to Micel Verdantflame, he and the Dragon Warriors know well. He even remembers the Azata Jubilation and is surprised to hear they met it in Krimson Forest.
He was quite heartbroken over Lord Carfen's death. The Carfen family were expert blacksmiths, and lost a lot of money and power during the Fifty Years' War while arming the frontlines at minimal cost. Dakan supported Argus Carfen and considered him close allies, but it seemed Carfen fell in with the wrong crowd and was utterly corrupted into a div as a result.
Allshai
Merki's father is an elf who used to live in Krimson Forest. He fell in love with a half-orc named Halgresh during a Krimson/Redtooth conflict. When she returned to tell him she was pregnant, he named the child, then fled. He has regretted this decision ever since, and became an outcast for his public views on tolerance. News of his son's death made him only more resolute.
He was once a merchant and a diviner, but now he lives with Halgresh outside of the Krimson.
B
Baba
Former lumberjack who now fights in Lord Trout's Tournament. He used to be the champion until Katt defeated him. He's waiting for his rematch.
Baat Daculon
Vampire Lord who loves the guitar, this corrupter enjoys poisoning the nobles and worming his way into towns. Eventually he was sent packing from the Isle of the Sun Library back to his lair on the Great Plains. He and Sal'nessee used to date, and he's quite jealous over Hawk as a result.
Two years ago, he corrupted the queen of the forest surrounding his lair, using Queen Califisteri as a natural barrier. You persevered, defeated her and stormed his castle. You endured multiple battles and trials before challenging him and forced him to go to extreme lengths. He begged mother for once final burst of power and was converted into an undead lightning dragon form. The form was defeated thanks to the Reval Kolphan and the party defeating his physical and spiritual forms. With the power of regeneration cut off, he and his castle crumbled.
No way...is this the end? Oh man IT BURNS! But Hawk...you gotta take care of her now. You can't...keep her locked up... forever-
Big Blue Beetle
This is a sentient metal golem in the shape of a stag beetle. He seems to be friends with Agent Midnight. Magmere had captured him and planned to drain his energy. Thankful to be free, he grabbed Agent Midnight and ran off to distract the Draugh Army.
C
Calaminous
This massive mechanical golem attacked you when you entered the mining operation in the Draugh Kingdom. He tried to squeeze Vegeta, treating him like a toy. His extreme weakness to Sendrine spelled his doom, and he self-destructed soon after.
In the oasis inside Norrison you met his upgraded mode, alongside his father and Reziel. He was dispatched again.
Circe
This icy humanoid survives just fine in the arid desert, but she'd rather spend her time in the Draugh Kingdom gambling away and getting into debt. Her sisters Petal Rose, Sheeva and Serra all think she is wasting her time.
The party had a huge bounty on their head after they left the kingdom capital, and Circe ambushed them in the middle of the night, hoping to capture and turn them in to the Draugh Army for a big reward. She was defeated and answered some of their questions before skating off into the night.
Councilman Vorre
Aasimar Councilman who is also one of the finest prosecutors on the Isle of the Sun. Sigurd Kolphan saved him from a demon once, and he's been ever thankful since then. He seems to dislike demons and evil outsiders in general.
He prosecuted Denerri, believing him to be a murderer. You convinced the jury otherwise, and this is his only loss in his otherwise perfect record. He's taken it quite hard, especially since Lord Trout is using this as a way to replace him politically.
D
Darius Kolphan
Human comedian by day, murder investigator during the night (and during the day). Darius and the Kolphan Family live on the Isle of the Sun. He investigated the deaths of musicians by Energy Drain and defended the wrongfully accused suspect, Denerri. Melanie notes he has a thing for women of fiendish descent. Darius has personally donated funds to Harvest Wharf to help reconstruct the town after the "earthquake."
He travelled with Nidri and the party to the Great Plains, planning to learn more and help the party fight Baat Daculon. Unfortunately the fey in the Queen Calofisteri's forest killed him before they could complete their quest.
In the town of Deonsy, Darius was revived and was glad to be alive again. Memories of the afterlife linger and he struggles to write what little he remembers.
Denerri
This tiefling is now head of the largest library on the Isle of the Sun. He comes from a poor neighborhood and his deformed leg hasn't won him many favors. Eventually he is accused of murder and is put on trial, but is found innocent of any wrongdoing thanks to your efforts.
Drianna
Drianna is now on the Isle of the Sun, designing new fashion and clothing for the elite crowd.
G
General Johaan
General of the Draugh Army, General Johaan is relatively young and quickly rose through the ranks. He favors the technology, in particular the blunderbuss and its ranged capabilities. He reports directly to the royal family.
Of late, he's been under immense pressure from the princess and the royal family for chasing after the party instead of persecuting Magmere, and then getting distracted by rumors of sentient machinery.
Green Guide
When you entered the great forest in the plains, you met a creature made of leaves and grass. Withered, it warned you of Queen Califisteri, driven insane and ordering her subjects to kill everyone on sight. It rejected the Queen's support and was weakened greatly.
When you defeated the Queen, she transferred her right of the forest to it. It swelled dramatically with life, almost to a breaking point. It promised to watch over the forest for as long as it could. When you returned from slaying the vampire and cured the Queen, she took most of her power back, but granted it independence and stability.
Now the Green Guide stays with Ventshi, helping repair the temple and learning how to interact with those outside the forest.
Gwaeriel
("Daughter of the Wind" in Elven)
While traveling across the Great Plains, you were attacked by a trio of harpies: A seductress, a hunter, and an envoy of the air. After killing them you found their lair atop a weathered out statue, over 100 feet up. Inside you found their lair, covered in filth. Fi discovered an unhatched egg that could be preserved. The similarities between the egg and Fleir were too much to ignore, so the elf chose to keep it warm until it hatched.
The harpy egg hatched and Fi named the young creature after the elements itself. Fi asks Queen Califisteri to raise her in the ways of being a druid, and offers her a cloak to remind her of the elf who helped her live.
H
Horkvin
A half-orc mercenary. He's a good sniper and will blab to the guards as soon as he's arrested. He seems to be a regular in Harvest Wharf's prison.
K
Katt Rinpo
Katt is the current champion of Trout's fighting arena in the Isle of the Sun. She is a Catfolk with yellow-and-black tiger fur. She's never had a formal education and gets distracted too easily, unless a fight breaks out.
She was a slave as early as she can remember, and taught herself how to fight with sticks and imitate other's fighting abilities. After fleeing from several owners she stowed away on many trading ships, earning her passage in street fights and a pit fighter. By the time she reached the Isle of the Sun, Lord Trout saw her fighting ability and took an immediate interest in her. He readily paid her previous owner's bounty and freed her. Fighting is all she's known, so she's stuck to the arena, earning her keep.
She defeated Baba in one of the highest-paying matches on the Isle and became the new champion afterwards.
King Arcetus
The King and ruler of the Draugh Kingdom, this dwarf has an impressive collection of weaponry. He keeps his wife Queen Lucellia close, and loves his daughter dearly. From what the party has seen, he seems to collect lots of information and compares them carefully before making a move.
Kolphanir
Matron of House Kolphan, Kolphanir is a Lillend who is permanently chained to a large rock. She seems to speak and understand only Celestial, which her children Darius, Sheela and Sigurd all learned at some point.
She was ejected onto the Material Plane during the Wailing Night and has spent the last thousand years on the Material Plane. When she had the opportunity to return home, she felt compassion for the mortals and chose to stay. Fearinng she would go mad with power, she asked the gods to chain her and restrict her influence.
Her spot is quite relaxing, apparently, and the Kolphan Estate has a temperate forest she's in the middle of (compared to the surrounding tropical forests.) She spends her days helping those who are good at heart, helping her family and playing her harp.
L
Lady Terria
Moira's family owns the Terria Swamp, although it isn't very valuable anymore. In fact, it's dubbed the Swamp of Despair and is a popular place for depressed Harvest Wharf and Mardens City residents to spend their last days. Terria herself owns several restaurants in Harvest Wharf.
She's big into fish and is a novice dancer. She is considered a very minor noblewoman and feels more at home with merchants and sailors rather than the upper class. Hawk and Claire quicly befriend her, and learn she knew Merki when he was a cook at one of her restaurants, the Twin Tuna.
Lord Trout
Lord Caelfen Trout owns the largest coloseum in the Isle of the Sun and is considered the biggest entertainer on the Isle. He also owns a small entertainment home in Mardens City, where one of his exotic dancers turned out to be div who promptly imprisoned him.
M
Marjorie Mel
Image Inspiration: pinterest
The eldest sister, Marjorie is covered from head to toe in cloth, revealing only her eyes. She's in charge of the finance and accounting departments in the East Ferren Trading Company. She currently employs Abraxinal as her assistant. She was Merki's supervisor and is now the party's supervisor after his passing, although she knows they are hiding information from her.
Her health is contradictory. She is a practitioner of the healing arts, yet she is always sick. Abraxinal spends a lot of time serving her medicines. She never eats in public, although that may be out of embarassment of her mouth. She works late hours yet never seems tired. Her faith was able to rescue Fi from the land of the dead but not Merki. The party learned that her body has been ravaged by disease throughout her entire life, hence why she dresses up from head to toe. Also, touching her skin is always crawling with disease.
She has made some research on the Lucavan, and was surprised when CF attacked the party, tempting her with a world of disease she wouldn't have to hide in. Before the war she heard a similar speech from a fellow healer. When she rejected the offer, he swore she would regret that.
Mayor Torrin
Leader of the oasis town of Norrison, the mayor continues to maintain the town his grandfather created. He also guards the secret to its success- the blessings of Reziel, the phoenix.
Eventually the phoenix had to flee, taking the blessings with him. The crops began to wither, and many townsfolk began to leave. Worse still, you had snuck out without an explanation. Many Norrison residents began moving away.
When you did return, you urged him to keep the town alive rather than abandoning it. As the midpoint between Deonsy and the Monastery of the Red Vipers, workers would stop at Norrison, allowing business to keep the town alive.
Melanie Mel
Image Inspiration: pinterest
The middle child of the Mel family, this happy-go-lucky big boned half-orc is in charge of Sales and Advertising at the East Ferren Trading Company. She seems to be bored or passively amused most of the time.
As the socialite, Melanie tends to attract the rich and famous to her "charity" events, which tend to degrade into thinly-veiled debauchery. She's always surrounded by eager suitors, and she never settles on just one. Still, her string and percussion work are top-notch. She seems to seek out talent in its many forms, from fashionistas to musicians and actors. She recently sponsored Abraxinal and Adrianna Hodgkins, and helped the superstar Sal'nesee back on her feet. She even introduced Jovias Dewleaf to the Harvest Wharf alchemy guild.
Melodie Mel
Image Inspiration: pinterest
This half-elf is the youngest of the three daughters Mel, and is head of the East Ferren Trading Company's security force. She seems a bit naive and trusts the party almost to a fault. She's certainly the most emotional of the family, usually happy and a little giddy, but always ready for battle and willing to publish the guilty.
Melodie is also close friends with Lord Dakan, captain of the guard. They spar frequently, and she has offered multiple times to combine her security force with the town guard, an offer he politely refuses. It's pretty clear from her conversations that she loves the man, and wishes his actual love Shavanni would move on already so she could court him without causing an affair.
Melodie seems to get very angry and frustrated when she feels powerless. After the palace grounds were attacked, she was upset at Melanie for continuing the party. When presented with Snock, a goblin explosives expert, she became very angry and frustrated.
The party suspects her of being the Night Guardian, a mysterious protector who stalks criminals during the night. Both seem to be incredible archers, as Dakan says she hid her archery skills from him. Melodie has a guilt and survivor complex from being unable to protect the town.
Melvin Mel
Image Inspiration: pinterest
The head of the East Ferren Trading Company, this Gnome and his three daughters run the most successful business in Alenno. He doesn't say much about his family or his wives. He took a liking to Merki and was quite saddened after his death.
He's quite professional and delegates his tasks carefully. He seems professional, unless it's about Merki's death.
Days before the Fifty Years War, Melvin was once visited by a merchant. This merchant was very pushy and wanted him to sign away the Company to him. The offer was rejected, but Melvin wondered if a Lucavan tried to coerce him.
Micel Verdantflame
Micel is an elven wizard who researches the Outer Planes and readily buys the sendrine the party offers him. Beyond arcane curiosity he keeps his motivations hidden. The party evaded him for a while because of this, but he seems too focused to be treacherous.
He's also quite rich, able to buy all the sendrine they need.
Merkinalious Urgh
Half-Orc Son of Halgresh and Allshai, he used to work for the East Ferren Trade Party as supervisor to the party. His death sparked the party into action.
Oh wait, maybe he's alive in the bowels of Norrison. He's been researching the Lucavan and is worried about their return.
P
Petal Rose
Image Inspiration: pinterest
Petal Rose is some kind of plant-based humanoid in a family of four sisters. Sheeva, Circe and Serra all encompass different elements, and Petal Rose seems to channel earth and plants. Her garden is open to the public, and they often collect fruits and vegetables. She has rejected the royal family's many attempts to work closely with them.
Petal Rose seems to be some kind of oracle, as she predicted the party's entry into her garden and she thinks they are up to no good. The party smoothed that over quickly, but she also doesn't trust the royal family, because they think they own the land. Vegeta wondered what she is, and she vaguely implied she's a lot larger than she seems.
By the time the party returned from their journey, she is on high alert- a cave suddenly disappeared as far as she's concerned. She said she would talk to Sheeva about it.
Princess of the Draugh
Image Inspiration: Google Photos
Besides her two years in the military, the princess is seen in the public very often. When she is public she is flanked by Imperial guards. She speaks quietly and is loved by the people. She seems to believe the party's good word, though.
Vegeta thinks she travels the kingdom as Agent Midnight but that's preposterous.
Q
Queen Lucellia
The Queen of the Draugh Kingdom is an Aasimar. She seems to have volume problems, as her quietest whisper can be heard normally. She is always by the king's side, and orders Serra around.
Queen Califisteri
Queen of the forest outside of Baat Daculon's castle in the Great Plains, the [[ queen has been reduced to a rambling, insane wreck thanks to the vampire. She has donated most of her essence to one of her assistants and is slowly dying.
On August 18, 1236 AD the party healed her back to normal, and she's quite thankful (and a bit annoyed Vegeta kept pummeling her.) She continues to protect the forest, take care of her pet Giant Flytrap, and snore loudly when she has to sleep.
R
Reval Kolphan
Ancestor of the Kolphans, the party met his spirit while investigating Baat Daculon's castle. He and his vampire hunting friends Simon and Bellum dragged Sigurd Kolphann into the heart of Baat's castle, hoping to end the undead fiend once and for all. Sigurd realized they were overwhelmed and asked to retreat but Reval was headstrong and led his allies to death. Only Sigurd lived and escaped while the others wandered the halls of Baat's castle.
When the party cleared the front gates, Reval was ready to launch a plan: Save Simon and Bellum and they will have enough power to strike Baat at a critical point. Bellum disagreed and though they needed more help. Luckily Darius and Ventshi were strong willed and their spirits were able to join the assault. While the party distracted Baat, Reval was able to cut off the source of his fiendish regeneration. When Baat was defeated, his castle crumbled and he may never return.
Reval, Bellum and Simon thanked the party for freeing them, and Reval left a gift: A blessing they could use to heal someone of multiple afflictions. As for them, it was finally time to join the afterlife. Reval had one last request: please pass his regards and his apology to Sigurd.
S
Sal'nessee
A demon-blooded dancer and performer who used to date Darius Kolphan. Despite her red skin, yellow eyes, bat-like wings and sharp claws, fans overlook her for her enchanting performances. Melanie Mel sponsored her fledgling career and she is forever thankful. Sal'nessee gave Abraxinal lots of advice on adjusting to the surface world, and to take pride in her heritage.
Born a slave, Sal'nessee is glad to be free. She and Darius dated briefly when she had a concert at the Isle of the Sun, but now they are just friends. He's been following her ever since. Sal'nessee has been intrigued by Hawk's tales of joy and happiness, and has tried to find her own source of happiness ever since.
Serra
Serra seems to be a divine figure. Her body is a featureless white humanoid wearing a purple robe, whose circular pattern seems to flow freely. She is related to Circe, Petal Rose and Sheeva and usually follows the Draugh Army at behest of the royal family. Agent Midnight considers her well meaning, but annoying.
The party didn't see much of her, but she asked them for their direct opinion of the Mel family. She seemed satisfied with their response.
Shavanni Tinderrain
One of the heroes of the Fifty Years' War, Shavanni is an elven mage from the Krimson Forest. She doesn't care much for order or civilization, and wears a torn dress to mock the Krimson system.
Her divination and transmutation magic was considered extraordinary, and many Krimson elves pegged her as a potential to become the next Archmage. The elders planned who she would marry, where she would live, how many children she would bear and expected her to be detached from the world. She didn't like that idea at all, and soon rebelled. She joined the Marden's City Army as a seer and helped guide the defense forces against their opponents.
During the Fifty Years' War, her Commanding Officer dispatched her against a young Lord Alexen Dakan. His bravery and humility to fight on the front lines despite his heritage intrigued her, and he managed to convince her of a demonic infiltration into the ranks of both armies. Her XO turning into a Demon and trying to kill them both only helped prove the matter.
Her relationship with Dakan blossomed, and even though she never gave her hand in marriage, she did bear him a son, Marxken. She travels the world, righting wrongs before they begin and inspiring the downtrodden into rising against their tyrannical oppressors.
Her foresight is incredible, but not perfect, and she takes it personally when lives are lost because she read things wrong.
Sheela Kolphan
Sheela Kolphan is an aasimar who lives on the Isle of the Sun along with the rest of the Kolphan family. Darius Kolphan's sister is quite jubilant and energetic, but sometimes loses her self control. She's been caught in one too many affairs for some members to tolerate.
She was one of your guides on the Isle of the Sun before she helped you attack Baat Daculon on the Library on the Isle of the Sun.
Sheeva
Sheeva is a flaming salamander, covered in molten rock. She seems to be related to Petal Rose, Circe and Serra. The party met her as she was smashing rocks and creating a sandstorm to keep invaders away from the desert. Vegeta defeated her in one-on-one combat, and she was impressed with his strength. She directed the party to a large golem that was investigating a large cavern.
Once they finished their investigation, Circe led them out of the desert and back to civilization.
Shengren
A bronze dragon, the "secret weapon" of the Dragon Warriors usually travels as a know-it-all monk. He and Captain Pankraz aid each other as a potent fighting team. They defeated a huge black dragon that tried to sink a Dragon Warrior ship.
Sigurd Kolphan
Half-Angel fighter on the Isle of the Sun. He is quite fond of smiting evil that threatens his home and family. He once saved Councilman Vorre from a Demon. He's always been popular with the Aasimar ladies, although his great dislike for those with fiendish blood have labelled him a bigot at times.
He helped you attack Baat Daculon on the Library on the Isle of the Sun.
V
Ventshi
Image Inspiration: Pinterest Link
Ventshi removes his hood and smiles. At least you think it's a smile. His muscular body is covered in golden scales, and his head is less of a human's head and more of a cobra's head.
This monk left the Order of the Red Vipers to learn the art of theater, and spread his good will across the world. He picked up some acting lessons from Darius Kolphan and is a bit of a showboat. Ventshi says some thing he can't quite identify called back to the monastery, and he would be happy to help guide the party to it.
Two years ago, he left monastery in the heart of the Forest of the Plains. Deep in meditation, he felt he heard his master's cry of pain. As he brought you back there, he saw what happened to the monastery: complete corruption. His undead master and the vampire horde inside challenged him to a final battle. He was victorious but furious. He turned his anger against Queen Califisteri, the ruler of the forest who had attacked and corrupted the monastery after he left.
He paid for the assault against the queen with his life, and his soul laid dormant within Baat Daculon's castle. There his spirit kicked a stone wall for what seemed to be centuries, roiling in his rage until the party calmed him down. He joined Reval Kolphan and the others in defeating Baat. Queen Califisteri, now sane, gave him a new kobold body to inhabit. Ventshi still doesn't trust the queen and thinks she is too vulnerable.
