- 9x13 pan, lightly greased
Cake
- 12 tbsp butter
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 lg eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. (8 oz) sour cream or yogurt
Topping
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 c. chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Beat together butter, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Alternately add flour and sour cream, stirring to combine.
- Spoon batter into pan.
- For the topping, combine brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon, stirring to combine.
- Sprinkle topping over the batter in the pan.
- Sprinkle chips on top (optional).
- Cover the pan with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
- Next morning, take the cake out of the refrigerator and preheat the oven to 350F.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until goden brown on top.
