Spiced Pear
Whilst digging though my boxes of cookbooks in my ever-tedious endeavor to unpack my worldly possessions, a printout of an email containing this recipe fell out (and the poooo faaalls ouuuut). After reading it, I decided it sounded pretty good, and any drink that Gwen claims is "tasty enough to make again" probably means it's girly and hides the alcohol taste nicely. So, I'll have to get back to you on this one once I've made it, unless one of you wants to try it and let me know how it comes out. If it's that good, I might have to rename it Roofie-colada.
Ingredients:
1 oz Belle de Brillet pear cognac
1/2 oz honey syrup (made by combining 1 part water to 2 parts honey)
1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz amaretto
Sparkling wine (ehh? Do you mean champagne? Is this a champagne cocktail? Oh I see it's a fizzy drink)
orange peel (for garnish)
1 dash fresh grated cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or star anise
Hmm... spices. This could be interesting. Okay, so crap all the ingredients minus the bubbly into a martini shaker, and toss in some ice. Shake it like an English nanny, then pour it into a rocks glass. Top it off with the bubbly and drop in the orange twist - to be fancy. Now go impress your date with your fancy-pants girly champagne cocktail!
