From Adventurers to Heroes!
Using the crossbow against those monsters that other time reminded me of everything my dad taught me. I mean, yes, he always taught me to not depend on magic alone, as he recalls having traveled to a weird far off land where magic didn't work. So that's why he taught me how to use a crossbow. He was never a good magic user.. I seem to have gotten that from my mom.
But I remember he told me that one of the most important things I needed to do was to one day distinguish myself from just a wandering adventurer, and to become a Hero! He said that hero's need to 1) have companions (check!), 2) be powerful (getting there!), but most importantly, 3) have catch phrases. Not sure why, but he was a very successful and recognized hero, so I'm sure he knew what he was talking about. And not just me, the entire party needs to have them. His catch phrase was "THAT'S how we do it in KINGSPORT!"... no idea why he said that... he wasn't even... from Kingsport.
That said, I think we need to start thinking about our catch phrases. The first one is, the catch phrase after we defeat an enemy. I have a few ideas that I need to run by the party:
My choices: "You've just been summoned... to the AFTERLIFE!"
Astera:
If the enemy is smaller than her, "Next time, pick on someone your own size! MUAHAHAHA" otherwise
"Time for you to SPLIT!" (he tends to chop things down real good)
Manny... I'm sure he already has one... he's very cool like that!
Maggie:
"Time to loot!"
Ember:
"Bet you didn't see THAT coming!" (get it? since she's usually invisible?)
Mara:
"When you battle me, you battle the GODS THEMSELVES!!"
Vitra:
"Begone fowl beast!"
I really wish we had a cook in the party... then she could use the best phrase ever: "EAT THAT!" OMG that would be soooo cool! I might learn to cook just for that line!
So yes, I'm gonna talk to the party about this. I'm sure they'll agree with me. After all, we all want to be heroes. I hope we get to be heroes soon, cause then we'll be asked to even better missions!
