Dirty Hippie Blackberry-Mango Smoothie

Deep down inside, I'm just another dirty California hippie. I really like smoothies. Now that I have my apartment to myself in the mornings, I can run my annoyingly loud blender at 7:30am and have myself a cold, delicious smoothie for breakfast. Here's what I'm having this week:

Ingredients:

1/2 a banana

3/4 cup frozen blackberries

1 cup frozen mango pieces

1 1/2 cups rice milk

1 tbsp sugar

Tools:

Mega-blender


Cram everything into the blender and push the "go" button. You may find yourself needing to stop every 30 seconds and to shove a spoon in there and plunge the frozen chunks down to the blades at the bottom (just to make sure everything gets nice and ground up). When you have no more large chunks, pour the smoothie into a pint glass as best you can (this smoothie is so beefy you can stand a spoon up in it, so if you can't pour, just scoop). Bonus, it's vegan-friendly - which, as I have learned, is a good thing to know! You never know when you're gonna need to feed a vegan first thing in the morning...
