Nymph

    Representing the beauty and the danger of nature, Nymphs are very good at getting through defensive lines. They can stun or blind melee opponents. Dimension Door is very useful for teleporting past a defensive wall. Nymphs can also easily resist most spells, using their Unearthly Grace ability. And they also have Druidic spells to back them up.
    As a character, the Nymph recieves stat bonuses almost every level, Damage Reduction, and powerful special attacks. This is balanced with a) low hit points and b) ridiculously low base attack bonus. She's a lover, not a fighter.


Racial Traits Starting Ability Score Adjustments: Dex + 2, Cha + 2. Nymphs are best known for their grace and beauty. Speed: Nymph land speed is 30 feet. Nymph swim speed is 20 feet. Nymphs can take 10 with a swim check even if they are rushed or threatened. Nymphs recieve a +8 to their swim checks to avoid hazards. Low-light vision: Nymphs can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of shadowy illumination. It retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. Languages: Sylvan, Common Type: Fey


Class Skills: The Nymph's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Concentraion (Con), Diplomacy (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Hide (Dex), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Ride (Str), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str, with +8 racial bonus), Use Rope (Dex)

Class Features All of the following are class features of the Nymph monster class. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Nymphs are proficient with simple weapons. Nymphs are not proficient with armor or shields.

Feats:A Nymph recieves one feat at 1st level and additional ones at 5th and 12th level. After that it gains feats according to its character level.

Wild Empathy:This ability works similarly to the Druid's ability, except the Nymph rolls 1d20 and adds her racial bonus (varies by level) and her Charisma modifier to determine the result.

Spells:Starting at 3rd level, Nymphs can cast druid spells. The equivalent spellcaster level is listed in the table.

    If a Nymph takes levels of Druid, the caster levels stack. So a 13 Nymph/2 Druid casts spells as a 9th level Druid.

Blinding Beauty (Su): As a standard action, a Nymph can blind all humanoids within range who are looking directly at her. They must succeed on a DC (10 + 1/2 Nymph's HD + Cha bonus) Fortitude save or be blinded permanently as though by the blindness spell.

    When a Nymph reaches 13th level, she can use this as much as she wants. It becomes a passive ability and she need not use a standard action to activate it. A Nymph can suppress or resume this ability as a free action.
    This ability initially has a limited number of uses and range, as indicated on the table. It gradually increases as the Nymph progresses in the monster class.

Dimension Door (Sp): Cast once per day as a level 7 caster.

Stunning Glance (Su): As a standard action, a wrathful nymph can stun a creature within range with a look. The target creature must succeed on a DC (10 + 1/2 Nymph's HD + Cha Bonus) Fortitude save or be stunned for 2d4 rounds.

    This ability initially has a limited number of uses and range, as indicated on the table. It gradually increases as the Nymph progresses in the monster class.

Unearthly Grace (Su):A nymph adds a resistance bonus to all of her saving throws. She also adds a bonus as a deflection bonus to her Armor Class. The maximum bonus is either the listed amount or her Charisma bonus, whichever is lower.

This is an 11-level version that is powerful enough to keep up with other PCs. This is the 13 level progression the Monster Manual suggests. Stretching it out to 13 levels leaves the Nymph with much too weak spells and not enough defense. Monster Manual 3.5 states that Nymphs can be advanced up to 12 hit dice. This table shows how a PC Nymph may advance. This chart can be used in either Nymph build. The number for level assumes the 11 level build was used.

Unfortunately, the monster advancement is pathetically weak. The Nymph should multiclass into a druid to gain the benefits of a better BAB, more hit points, and more feats. The slight loss of 2 skill points per level is a small price to pay.
