Shelbourne Farms Cyser

  • 1 gallon Shelbourne Farms Cider
  • 3 lbs Trader Joes Mesquite Honey
  • SuperFood Yeast Nutrient
  • Vinters Harvest SN9 Premium Wine Yeast

Brought the cider to a boil and reduced a bit. Added honey and dissolved. Cooled must in a sink of cold water until 84F. Added 1/2 tsp nutrient to must. Pitched dry yeast directly to must per packet instructions at 80F. --Morrigu (talk) 22:45, 30 September 2015 (EDT)

Racked. It's started to clarify, but needs a little more time. Nice honey/apple flavors with no noticeable off flavors, but a bit of alcohol burn. --Morrigu (talk) 14:09, 2 July 2016 (EDT)

Bottled: Not as clear as I'd like, but strong honey and apple flavors without the funny aftertaste. Possibly the best Cyser/Mead I've ever made. --Morrigu (talk) 15:49, 14 May 2017 (EDT)
