  • Diiman's car, the Black Tiger, was custom made for the movie. It drove production costs waaaaay up, so the movie had to be a success. Making it a prime target for extortionists.
  • For about a month during filming, Diiman took a dare (a double-dog dare, actually) from a close friend to get a pizza delivery job with the Black Tiger. He worked for Pizza Gazebo on weekends after filming finished. The hiring manager didn't know who he was (he applied under his real name), but the customers knew! It not only ramped up excitement for the film (the Black Tiger's roar is very distinctive) but it turned into fantastic word-of-mouth advertising for Pizza Gazebo. They made a commercial about it when the movie came out on VHS later that year. This is cited in marketing classes across the country as an early example of viral marketing.
  • During the shooting, a world-famous gang offered "protection" for the Black Tiger and Diiman. The studio refused, and the gang swore accidents would happen.
  • In the last scene, Diiman is drives a prop bomb out of the city and dumps it in the river. The gang replaced the prop with a real bomb, and attacked him in his car during the recording by helicopter.
  • Not only did Diiman beat the guy who jumped through his passenger-side window, but he interrogated the criminal, drove to the gang's hideout and dropped the bomb in their base before it went off! The warehouse was completely destroyed, and the studio had it all on tape.
  • Moviegoers flocked to the movie, saying the final scene was extremely realistic. The base owner tried to sue Diiman and the studio, but he was quickly linked to the gang. Diiman blew stuff up, got lots of cash and caught the badguys, HA!
• 2 Fast Too
  • Diiman drove a bus whose speed needed to stay high, or it would explode.
  • By the end, Diiman propels it with rocket launchers into the badguy base.
• Construction by Day, Demolition by Night
  • One of Diiman's early films, while he was still learning English.
  • The English dub for Diiman, a high-pitched 12-year-old girl, was quite inappropriate.
• Diiman and Blazing Fury in Destructive Fist of the Western Nebula
  • This was the first time Diiman starred in a Chinese film. Especially along side the Chinese action superstar Blazing Fury.
  • During one scene, they escaped from a well filling with acid. Diiman's wall jumps were quite impressive, but BF put him to shame by leaping out with a single jump. Some of Dii's fans claimed BF was cheating with wires but Diiman set the record straight.
  • In end fight however, Diiman pulled off several impressive gun shots while BF wasted time closing into melee. Many Chinese film critics were angered and demanded a scene change, but BF would hear none of it.
  • BF and Diiman performed a stunt contest to promote the movie's premiere. People were impressed to see an American perform stunts well. The videotape is super-rare.

  • General Washington is actually a hot chick! Oh, plot twist! And she loves Diiman!
  • They cross the Ptomonac to the Redshirt factory. Explosions ensue.
  • Washington sacrifices herself to take Lord England's bullet. Diiman replies by blasting him back to England with a Red-White-Blue bazooka. Fireworks ensue in the shape of a flag. It's a nice symbol, Diiman replies.
  • Diiman wears Washington's disguise and leads the country in her name!
• One Nation, Under D (Spinoff of Diiman's nightmare)
  • Sequel to Don't Tread on D. Diiman's great great grandson stops the American Civil War.
• Wall Street Boom
  • Diiman is the CEO of an company that specializes in explosives. When terrorists demand he sets up a few jobs for them, explosions ensue.
• You Only Explode Twice
• DiiBoned - A...uh...early Diiman film that relies more on...uh...physical interaction instead of acting.
  • Further inspection shows it wasn't Diiman but an actual look-a-like. It took quite some time to notice this and by then the rumor stuck.
