Brought 2 gallons of water to 180F, soaked the grains for 45 minutes.  Added 1 gallon of cold water, brought to a boil, added LME, returned to heat, brought to a boil again, started 1 hour timer and added kent golding hops.  At 30 minutes, added irish moss.  As 15 minutes, added fuggle hops.  Cooled in a sink of cold water to 76F.  Added Hot water to 3 gallons, yeast energizer, and pitched. -[[User:Morrigu|Morrigu]] 21:15, 4 March 2012 (EST)

pitched the starter.  Nothing happened.  Not sure if I let the starter sit for too long, or if the braggot is just too much for the yeast to do any more to it.  I'll try racking to oxygenate it a bit and see if that helps.  [[User:Morrigu|Morrigu]] 6 September 2012

Contamination happened when I pitched.  The outside of the carbouy got moldy, and when I opened it up, some spores must have gotten inside because the top quickly grew furry spots.  Rather than trying to salvage it, I dumped it.  Next time I'll pitch the 099 the first time I feed it.

  • .25 lbs honey malt
  • 1 oz fuggle hops pellets
  • 1 oz kent golding hops pellets
  • 1 tsp irish moss
