==Ingredients==

* 5 cups flour
* 5 tsp salt
* 2 envelopes of yeast 
* 1 tbsp sugar
* 3 potatoes, mashed well
* Enough water to knead into dough
* Lots of oil for deep frying

==Instructions==

# Sift flour into bowl
# Add salt and sugar
# Bloom yeast according to directions
# Add mashed potatoes and yeast to flour mixture
# Mix together in bowl, add water as needed to make dough sitcky but not too mushy
# Upend bowl onto floured surface and knead dough until uniform
# Coat bowl with a thin layer of oil and return flour to it
# Let rise, covered, for over an hour or until dough doubles in size 
# Deep fry in oil at 375 degrees in strips or balls, until golden brown
# Drain on paper towels
# Serve as is or with powdered sugar. Better when served hot. Can be reheated in the microwave.
